What is a free eSIM?
A free eSIM is a digital SIM profile that gives your phone mobile data without paying or inserting a physical SIM card. You download it to your phone's built-in eSIM chip and keep your regular SIM for calls and texts.
Is the eSIMfree trial really free?
Yes. The trial costs nothing and you do not enter a credit card or any payment details. There is no subscription and no auto-renewal, so it cannot turn into a bill.
How much data do I get and for how long?
The free trial includes 1 GB of mobile data, valid for 7 days from the moment the eSIM first connects to a network. When the data or the 7 days run out, the connection simply stops.
What do I need to get the free eSIM?
You need an eSIM-compatible phone that is carrier-unlocked, an account in our client area, and a verified email address. Free trials are limited, so availability is not guaranteed.
Will I lose my phone number?
No. On dual SIM phones your physical SIM stays active for calls and texts while the eSIM handles mobile data. The eSIM itself is data only and does not come with a phone number.
How do I know if my phone supports eSIM?
Dial *#06#. If your phone shows an EID number, it has an eSIM chip. Most iPhones from the XR and XS onwards, Samsung Galaxy S20 and newer, and Google Pixel 3 and newer support eSIM, but the phone must also be unlocked from your carrier.
How do I install the eSIM?
Connect to Wi-Fi, open Settings, go to Mobile data or Connections, and choose Add eSIM. Scan the QR code from your client area, or enter the SM-DP+ address and activation code manually. Keep the eSIM switched off until you arrive.
Should I turn on data roaming?
Turn data roaming on for the eSIM line only. Keep roaming off on your main SIM so your home carrier does not charge you roaming fees.
Can I use WhatsApp and hotspot with the eSIM?
Yes. WhatsApp, FaceTime, Telegram and other apps work over eSIM data and keep your existing accounts. Paid plans allow hotspot use, though support depends on your phone.
Where does the free eSIM work?
It works in the countries listed on our coverage page, on partner networks in each country. Signal and speed depend on the local network, your phone and where you are.
Can I reinstall the eSIM if I delete it?
No. Activation codes are single-use, so a deleted eSIM cannot be installed again. Only remove it after your trip.
What happens when the 1 GB is used up?
Your data connection pauses and you are not charged anything. If you need more, you can buy a 10 GB plan for $9.99 or a 20 GB plan for $19.99, each valid for 365 days.
